Good Morning Texas Interview with Jane McGarry
I recently had the opportunity to appear at WFAA’s morning television show Good Morning Texas in Dallas to promote the film I wrote, produced, directed, and acted in ‘The Johnny Starr Story’. Jane McGarry was the television show host who was interviewing me about the movie. We talked about the storyline, where the film was shot, and discussed some of the actors. It was such a pleasant experience being interviewed by Jane McGarry on Good Morning Texas. It was as if we were just two friends who’ve known each other for years having a casual conversation. During the segment Jane McGarry caught me by surprise and completely off guard when she mentioned she did some research on me and found out I used to be a rapper. She asked me for a quick sample so in very impromptu and unscripted fashion I quickly busted out with a freestyle rap which received a phenomenal applause after from Jane McGarry and the Good Morning Texas staff working the segment that day.
The Johnny Starr Story has already received two awards at the Bare Bones Film Festival and will be having it’s Texas Premiere at the Fort Worth Indie Film Showcase on July 15th, 2017. The Johnny Starr Story tells the story of a reporter who goes to this small town to investigate the death of rock star Johnny Starr forty three years ago, and the murder of a District Attorney whose case was never solved. While investigating he uncovers some truths that he shouldn’t be uncovering.
The Johnny Starr Story continues to receive amazing press coverage and great reviews. I hope you can make it out to one of our screenings and enjoy the film.
