Pre-Workout – Extra Pump For That Workout
During the hot summer months in the South the heat can definitely drain and deplete you of your energy levels pretty quickly. I typically try to hit the gym at least five days a week which can be sometimes challenging with my hectic and ever changing schedule. My workout times vary depending on what I have going on that day from photoshoots, to acting and being on set, or having client appointments. My workout may be early to mid morning, early to mid afternoon, or early to really late evening. You just never know what time of day you may spot me in the gym.
Before heading to the gym though I always make sure to take my pre-workout to give me that extra strength for maximum performance while lifting weights. I like to switch out and try different products so my body doesn’t build up a tolerance to any one product.
Recently I tried ON’s new Gold Standard pre-workout. It says it is suppose to give you amplified energy, focus, and enhanced endurance. I followed the manufacturers directions and took one scoop with 8 oz.’s of water 30 minutes before my workout. The product seemed to mix well in my shaker, and I didn’t notice any bitter after taste to it.
At first I didn’t feel any effect but about 25 minutes in I started to feel a little more energized without the jittery feeling that some other pre-workout formulas give you. I seemed to be more focused in on what I was doing. As I began my workout I could immediately tell the product was working. I was able to get in more sets, and reps at a higher weight than my normal lifts. ON’s Gold Standard pre-workout seemed to last evenly throughout my entire workout without tapering off to early as some other products tend to do.
Also, I really like the fact that this product is banned substance free and certified. That helps give me extra piece of mind knowing I am consuming a safe product. We only have one body, so we need to take care of it as best we can. ON’s tagline for their Gold Standard Pre-Workout formula is “This Pre-Workout Is As Good As Gold!”. I would say that is about right. It can be purchased at a very affordable price compared to other pre-workout formulas from competing brands, it does the job it is intended for, and it doesn’t have that awful aftertaste as some of the other one’s do.
Overall, I would say this product has my vote and I’d definitely recommend it. I plan to continue using it.
