Dependents
Actor/Writer/Producer Israel Varela recently wrapped up principal photography on his latest production titled “Dependents”. It is a short film that centers around a man named Mark who is torn between his alcoholic and drug addicted Mother and keeping his family from falling apart. He is caught between trying to make sure his Mother is taken care of while trying to keep the peace at home with his wife and daughter. Things begin to quickly unravel when his Mother reappears in their lives.
Israel Varela tapped award winning Director Israel Marquez to direct this film as well as award winning filmmaker Bill Hass who led the helm as Director of Photography. The cast included veteran actors such as Kara Rainer, Eric Hanson, and Ivy Opdyke as well as newcomer Cristina Martinez. Dependents is now in post production to get it ready to make the film festival circuit.
Actor Israel Varela is now looking for his next production to work on and has several scripts in development for his own production company 8778 Productions.
